Download PDFCombine all the ingredients, except the tomato ketchup and salt, in a large, deep, heavy, non-reactive saucepan.
Bring the mixture to a simmer over a medium heat. Cook, uncovered, until all the ingredients have dissolved, stirring constantly, approx. 5 minutes.
Stir in the tomato ketchup and salt and bring to a boil, stirring well. Cook until thickened, approx. 5-10 minutes.
Cool to room temperature then store in a sterilised bottle or jar. Refrigerate for up to 2 months.
