Download PDFMelt the butter in a large pot over a medium heat.
Add the mince to the pot and season. Break up the meat using a wooden spoon, make sure it’s as fine as possible.
Sauté until the meat starts to brown.
Add the finely chopped celery, carrots, onion and garlic clove and sauté for 5 minutes.
Stir in the water and cook for another 5 minutes.
Stir in the salt and a pinch of nutmeg.
Add in the tin of chopped tomatoes and bay leaves.
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 45 minutes or until the sauce thickens and the mince is tender.
Discard the bay leaves and adjust the seasoning.
Spoon the warm Bolognese onto the bottom halves of the slider buns. Replace the tops and serve.
