Preparation Guidelines

Cooking instructions: For channa masala: Heat oil in a pan and sauté chopped onions until golden. Add minced garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant. Stir in eastern channa masala and cook for a few minutes to allow the spices to release their aroma. Add cooked chickpeas (channa), diced tomatoes, and a splash of water. Simmer until the flavours meld and the sauce thickens. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with rice, roti, or naan. For chickpea stew: Use the masala to season a hearty chickpea stew, adding it to a mix of chickpeas, vegetables, and broth.
