- Generously spread both the cut sides of the rolls with basil pesto.
- Thinly slice the mozzarella.
- Arrange half the cold meats on top followed by half the roasted red peppers. Top with fresh basil leaves and mozzarella slices. Repeat the process once more. Cover with the top half of the roll. Repeat with the remaining rolls.
- Wrap the muffulettas tightly in wax paper and slice each one in half to reveal the layers.
